Community Connections (Revelstoke) Society is a non-profit organization and is Revelstoke’s central provider of integrated, accessible social service programs. To respond to community needs, Community Connections delivers quality services both directly and through community partnerships. There are over 50 full-time staff, multiple service sites and over 20 social service programs offered to adults and children alike through this well respected and valued organization.

Youth Respite Worker (Casual)

Program Description: The Supported Child and Family Development Program supports all families within the Revelstoke area who are seeking support with their children and youths. As part of this program we are able to support and provide families with one to one respite services. This service is for families with children or youths with Developmental Diversabilities. The respite is on a monthly scheduled basis and will be part-time hours. The aim of the respite is to provide a break for families and the children or youth and to have fun, alongside building life skills.

Job Description:The respite worker will assist and support a child or youth with a Diversability to participate in life skill activities within the community that are meaningful to the individual. The position requires exceptional people, organization and judgement skills, ability to interact positively with professionals, management, and team members alike, as well as excellent communication skills both written (report writing and documentation) and verbal. Strong computer skills are a requirement.
