Social Outreach Supports
Our Community Outreach and Development programs offer vital support to help individuals, families and seniors in Revelstoke. Co-located, at our Outreach Centre, with our food programming, the Community Drop-In offers a welcoming space to ask questions, connect with neighbors, and access to various services.
Community Support
For adults and families who are struggling to access housing, income, or resources. Supports include a range of services to decrease barriers, including providing help to navigate or apply for:
- Subsidized, and below-market housing
- Housing subsidies
- Income Assistance, Persons with Persistent and Multiple Barriers (PPMB), or Persons with Disability (PWD)
- Crisis funding – for those already receiving Income Assistance, PPMB, or PWD
- Employment Insurance (EI)
- Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Old Age Security (OAS), Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
- Income tax returns
- Funding to access the pool, gym, sports programs, recreation, art and cultural programs, events, and other activities
- Support accessing health services

Community Drop-In Hours
Drop-in hours operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Tues: 1 PM – 4 PM
- Thurs: 10 AM – 1 PM
Please contact us to schedule a private appointment outside of Drop-In hours. Depending on demand and time of year, wait times may vary from 0–3 weeks. Urgency of situations will be prioritized.
Available Mon-Thurs 9 AM – 4:30 PM.


Better at Home (BAH) Program
The Better at Home (BAH) Program, funded by United Way, helps seniors (65+) remain independent in their homes by offering non-medical services.
These include:

- Light housekeeping
- Lawn care
- Transportation
- Grocery services
- Friendly visits
- Group events
- Snow removal
Our group events remain a highlight, featuring a weekly coffee group, monthly trips to local attractions, and Lunch and Learns.
BAH works closely with the Seniors Center, Hospice, Community Paramedic, Interior Health, and CRN to provide comprehensive care and support to seniors in the community.
Temporary Emergency Shelter
The shelter will be open from Nov 1st 2024, and will be running for remainder of the winter season
Referral to the Shelter can be made during the week in the following ways:

- Via phone Monday – Thursday 9am – 4pm & Friday 9am – 12pm
- In person during Drop-In at the Outreach Centre
- In person at the Main Office
Over the weekend, we will have an On – Call staff member, who can take referrals from:

- The Emergency Department
