Photos and progress report by Tennille Barber.
Every year the Emergency Services Food Drive fights back against hunger, I am amazed at the amount of people who come to show they care about Revelstokians not as fortunate as they. This year, the first night showed 25 people sorting and packing, and 150 people on the streets going door to door.
Right away a couple of generous monetary donations fell into the hands of Patti Larson and Krista Carnegie, including:
• $1000 from the Baptist Church; and
• $1200 in donations brought in from the community as people went door to door.
Patti estimates there is about 6 pallets of food so far. We will have a full list of groups who participated tomorrow. Community Connections, the Emergency Services Food Drive and the Food Bank thanks the participants and the community of Revelstoke for their generous donations.
